AFCON 2023: ‘It’s coming home’ – Nigeria’s Mikel Obi

Former Super Eagles captain John Obi has said that the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is coming home to Nigeria.

Mikel Obi said this in a post on his Instagram story a few hours before the AFCON final clash between Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday.

The former Chelsea midfielder backed Jose Peseiro’s men to beat the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in front of their home supporters.

Let’s go boys. It’s [AFCON trophy] coming home, @Super Eagles,” Mikel posted.

Nigeria got to the final after beating South Africa in the semi-final encounter, while Cote d’Ivoire defeated DR Congo.
