I always watch his games – Musiala names his role model in football

Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has revealed that Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi is his role model in football.

Musiala, who said he always watch Messi’s games, insisted he felt honored to have received the Argentine’s nomination for the 2023 Kopa Trophy.

Recall that Musiala finished second behind Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham after the winner was selected by a jury of former Ballon d’Or winners.

The Kopa Trophy is awarded to the world’s best U-21 player yearly on the same day as the Ballon d’Or is awarded.

Speaking recently to journalist Phillip Kessler, Musiala said (via All About Argentina X):

“I thought that was a big honour. Messi was always my role model growing up.

“I always watched his games and admired him for his game.”
