Atiku in rare visit to APC secretariat, meets Oyegun, NWC members over ‘party funding’

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar visited the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday.
He held a closed-door meeting with APC leadership led by the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

Atiku entered the premises at about 12.50pm.

On his entourage was Adamawa State Governor, Muhammad Bindow Jibrila.

The duo were led to the office of the national chairman where they met for about 20 minutes before other national officers were called into the meeting.

The Nation reports that Atiku was not allowed to talk to newsmen despite sign that he wanted to do so.

He was escorted to his car by two APC NWC members

The meeting reportedly discussed funding of the party, an issue President Muhammadu Buhari has allegedly taken less serious since he got into power.

The APC has reasons to seek financial support at this time.

The ruling party will be contesting in two governorship elections scheduled for Edo and Ondo States, in September and November respectively.
