Covenant University Fees: Nigerians blast Bishop Oyedepo for saying wrath of God will befall critics

Days after the Bishop of the Living Faith Church worldwide, Dr. David Oyedepo and owner of the Covenant University appealed to those criticizing the school to desist to avoid incurring the wrath of God, some concerned Nigerians say he is not a true man of God.

The tuition fees charged by the Covenant University have continued to spark up controversies.

Cool FM’s On-Air Personality, OAP, Freeze, has joined the league of Nigerians calling out to the pastor.


Recall that the popular pastor had said the critics were acting in ignorance and risked incurring the wrath of God.

Oyedepo said the issue of school fees paid by students of the university was a godly agenda to meet the demands of raising godly children in an environment conducive for learning.

“The school fees has God’s approval and is in accordance with the quality of facilities provided by the university in meeting the educational needs of the nation.”

But reacting to his warning, Freeze lambasted Pastor Oyedepo on his Instagram page @daddyfreeze, saying: “Who is this man to know the mind of God? A mere ‘brand manager’ of a ‘brand’ is threatening God’s people?


“A friend of mine whose brother is a very popular musician and whose parents are deacons in his church had to pay in full for the school, despite paying tithes and working in the church.

“If he cares so much about educating Nigerians, why can’t he do like Oprah Winfrey did and open a school for less privileged children as a way of giving back to the society?”

Another Instagram user @dalacrimwrote: “Jesus healed people without collecting shingbai and here is another deceiver claiming school fees has God’s approval. After building an empire with masses’ contribution.

“I just hope the real God will disgrace all these evil people in public, hiding under the name of God and extorting money from poor people.”

@peterzlord wrote: “Christians are yet to realize that they have been brainwashed by all these heartless and stupid scammers. fu-Ck you bald head Oyedepo, thief!”
