Daily Sun Staff Shot Dead In Onitsha

The circulation representative of the SUN Newspapers, Mr. Fabian Obi was shot dead by armed robbers at the company’s office, in Onitsha, Anambra state on Monday.


The gang, said to be operating on a motorcycle,
stormed the Sun office, located at the old market in Onitsha at about 10.25 am.




WaploadedMedia gathered that the robbers carted away undisclosed sum of money from the deceased sales before shooting him three times on the thoracic cavity.


A Sun reporter who preferred anonymity, while confirming the story to our correspondent, said he was on his way to the hospital where the body of the deceased was taken to.


"They have killed our circulation man. I'm rushing to the hospital where he was taken to. But I can confirm to you the incident happened and that our circulation rep is dead." he said.


WaploadedMedia learnt that the body of the deceased had since been deposited at the Boromeo Hospital morgue in the commercial city of the state by security officials and some members of the newspaper.



Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Nkeiruka Nwode, said the command was on the trail of the suspects.
