Emergency! US warn of Boko Haram attack in Abuja
– The United States Embassy in Nigeria has reported about a potential terrorist attack in Abuja
– The attackers will likely target hotels and other public places frequently visited by the Westerners
The US Embassy in Nigeria has released an emergency message warning its citizens in Nigeria of imminent terrorist attack in Abuja, Daily Post reports.
The embassy reportedly received information about Boko Haram members planning an attack, however, no exact time or date was named.
It immediately notified its citizens, residents, tourists and others about the danger and asked to stay cautious and avoid big crowds in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The embassy representatives said: “We advise all U.S. citizens to review their personal security plans, remain aware of their surroundings, including local events, monitor local news stations for updates, and report specific incidences of targeted violence to the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the U. S. Consulate General in Lagos.”
According to the embassy, the hotels frequently visited by foreigners could become the attackers’ likely targets.
