Gareth Bale signs contract extension with Real Madrid

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has signed a new deal with the Spanish giants today.

Los Blancos have confirmed that the Welsh winger will stay at the club until 2022. The announcement will finally end all speculations surrounding the player’s future. Real Madrid have also confirmed that the player will address the press tomorrow afternoon.

The former Tottenham winger has been linked with a move to Manchester United over the last few months. Earlier this month, there were reports that Manchester United are looking to sign the top class winger and have already got in touch with his agent. Apparently, the player’s agent met with Mourinho and Woodward to discuss a potential summer transfer.

Real Madrid signed Bale for a then world-record transfer fee of £85m and has scored 50 goals in 90 league appearances for the Spanish outfit. Recently, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos also extended his deal with Real Madrid.

Bale signing a new deal will come as a major boost to all Real Madrid fans. With Cristiano Ronaldo on the decline, the Welsh winger is set to take over as the main man at Bernabeusoon. Zinedine Zidane will also be delighted to have tied down one of his best players to a long-term contract.
