"Goodluck Jonathan Can’t Be A Sponsor Of Niger Delta Avengers" – Militant Group

A militant group, the Joint Revolutionary Council, JRC, has dissociated itself from the report by an online medium that it named former President Goodluck Jonathan as a Sponsor of the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA.

In a statement issued on Sunday by its spokesperson, Cynthia Whyte, the group stressed that if the immediate past president was given to violence, he would not have lost the 2015 presidential election.

The group had reportedly claimed that former President Jonathan was the grand patron of the NDA, naming Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Seriaki d!ckson of Bayelsa as sponsors.

But a statement issued shortly after, Whyte said: “This publication, as quoted and reported by Sahara Reports is a Lie. At no time did Cynthia Whyte, Spokesperson of the Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC) issue a press release of that sort.

“We condemn the treacherous and blackmail that the press release was meant to achieve. The journey to a liberated Niger Delta is the responsibility of every citizen of the Niger Delta even those who have dedicated themselves to a life of servitude to hegemonic slave masters.

“How can Goodluck Jonathan sponsor The Avengers? If Goodluck Jonathan was given to such antics, he would not have lost the election of March 2015.”
