Ikpeazu Files Notice Of Appeal Against Sack By Court

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, this morning filed a notice of appeal and application for stay of execution at the Court of Appeal in Abuja against the ruling of Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Justice Okon Abang had on Monday ordered Governor Ikpeazu, to vacate office immediately for allegedly submitting false information to his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the party's governorship primary held in December 2014.

He equally ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately issue a certificate of return to the plaintiff, Uche Ogah, who polled the second highest number of votes in the primary.
