Man arrested for allegedly impersonating police in Delta

A forty-three-year old man, Chiemeka Telvin has been arrested for allegedly impersonating the police along Abraka/Ubiaruku in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Also arrested with him is one Erirhe Ambrose, a driver of a Mercedes Benz Truck belonging to Alon Technical Services Limited in Port-Harcourt.

DAILY POST gathered that Chiemeka Telvin and the driver were arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad,SARS while he (Chiemeka) was escorting the vehicle loaded with some welding
materials with full police uniform with Force Number: 429000 and bearing the rank of a Sergeant.


In a statement signed by the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim and made available to DAILY POST, the police confirmed the report, noting that the fake police sergeant was arrested after,”On-the-Spot Inquiry” revealed he was a fake policeman.”

“He was arrested along with the driver while the vehicle was impounded”.

The police also claimed that a Mercedes Benz Truck with Reg. No. ABU 208 UV and some Welding materials were recovered from the fake policeman and the driver, adding that,”Investigation is still in progress.”
