State government will henceforth prosecute owners of event centres and other social centres in the state who fail to put in place safety measures among which is crowd control mechanism that will ensure safety of people attending events.

Director General, Lagos State Safety Commission LSSC, Hon. Akeem d!ckson made this disclosure yesterday, at a media parley on “instituting appropriate safety events and entertainment industry” held at the conference room of the Ministry of Youth and Development, Alausa, Ikeja.

d!ckson revealed that LSSC consultants had been mandated to carry out an audit of events, bars and other social centres in the state to intimate and educate owners of the ministry’s latest requirement.

Part of the enlightenment according to him; include the construction of more than one exit points which would prevent attendees from being trapped at during fire outbreak.
