Trailer crushes four ‘Okada’ riders to death in Abuja

Four commercial motorcyclists reportedly lost their lives on Monday in Abuja after a MAN-Diesel trailer rammed into a Toyota Camry car.

The Toyota Camry consequently lost control and crushed the men to death.

The accident which happened at Dutse-Alhaji Junction along Murtala Muhammed Expressway (Kubwa Road), Abuja, saw the motorcyclists being crushed while they were waiting for passengers beside the Public Service Institute.

Four were confirmed dead while five others who sustained serious injuries were rushed to Kubwa General Hospital for medical attention.

The spokesman for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Bisi Kazeem, while confirming the accident said the accident was as a result of speed violation, mechanical deficient vehicle and dangerous driving.

He added that one of the corpses had been released to his family for burial while other bodies were deposited at the Kubwa General Hospital morgue.
