Troops recover weapons from Fulani herdsmen in Zamfara
Nigerian troops during a clearance operation, has recovered arms from some Fulani herdsmen in Zamfara State.
This was contained in a statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman.
According to the statement, “In continuation with the on going efforts of ridding Zamfara State of the menace of livestock rustling and armed banditry, troops of 223 Battalion, 1 Brigade of 1 Division Nigerian Army today carried out fighting patrol and cleared armed bandits camp at Baba-Ndoka, Chillin and Pamagaji-Magiha villages located at Dansadau Emirate, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
“The patrol team also had meeting with Fulani delegation led by Alhaji Ruwa who voluntarily handed over 2 locally fabricated pistols and 3 Dane guns.
“He also promised to persuade all other known armed bandits to come out and renounce their illegal vocation.”
