Algeria vs Zambia: Chipolopolo Ready To Pile Pressure On Super Eagles (See Details)

Zambia will take on Algeria on Tuesday, hoping to keep the pressure on Nigeria, in the race to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Chipolopolo beat the North Africans 3-1 with 10 men last Saturday, taking them to second place in Group B with four points.

With Cameroon drawing 1-1 with the Super Eagles on Monday, it means that the sole ticket in the group, will be contested between Nigeria and Zambia.

A win for the former African champions in Algiers, will see them close the gap at the top to three points, ahead of a potentially decisive clash against Gernot Rohr’s men on October 7.

Enock Mwepu, who scored twice in their 3-1 victory, says they must be ready for a tough match as the hosts will not be easy to beat at home.

“It was my target to score on my debut and I am very happy to come in as a substitute to score. I believe we need to continue working hard so that we beat Algeria in the return match in their backyard,” he said.

The game will be played in Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui in Constantine and kick-off is 9pm Nigeria time.
