There will be no other Cristiano Ronaldo – Ronaldo

The Real Madrid and Portugal superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has said that every player is unique, therefore, no star can be dubbed as being the “same” as another.

Ronaldo dismissed the notion that another player may emerge to be the “same” as him in the future.

The Portugal captain, who recently celebrated signing a contract extension which keeps him in Madrid until 2021, has been busy receiving several awards following a remarkable 2015-16 season.


The 31-year-old led Real Madrid holds 11th Champions League title, before playing a key role in helping his country defeat France in the Euro 2016 Championship final.

The forward insisted every player is unique, therefore, cannot be dubbed as being the same as another when asked if there could be another Ronaldo in the future.

He told Marca, “No one can be the next Cristiano Ronaldo, there are no doubles.

“The next will be what he has to be, but never the same. That doesn’t happen.


“I see in Europe many young talents, I can mention several: Renato Sanches, Andres Gomes, or Joao Mario.

“There are many to choose from and I’ve only mentioned the Portuguese, but there are many in Europe who have the capacity to go far.

“I am very happy because these great talents assure that football will always be strong.”

Ronaldo is currently away with his national teammates in preparation for their World Cup qualifier against Latvia on Sunday.
