Chelsea are in talks with Diego Simeone over becoming the club’s long-term manager in the summer, according to reports.

The Blues have acted swiftly following the sack of Jose Mourinho to name Guus Hiddink as interim manager for the rest of the campaign.

But he’s not as a future option, and the Daily Express says Chelsea are in talks to bring in Atletico Madrid coach Simeone in the summer.

It’s claimed negotiations have been underway for the last month or so, with Roman Abramovich a huge admirer of the passionate Argentine.

Pep Guardiola’s name has been mentioned with the role, but it’s thought he’s now destined to go elsewhere and Chelsea are focused on Simeone.

The 45-year-old doesn’t currently speak English but he’s keen on moving to the Premier League and feels his time at Atletico is up.
