Tragedy is a disco song by pop music group the Bee Gees, from their fifteenth studio album Spirits Having Flown (1979). It was written by band members Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, and produced by the band, Albhy Galuten and Karl Richardson.
After its release on February 5, 1979, the single reached number one on the US Billboard 200, propelling the album to the number-one spot in UK, Sweden, New Zealand, Norway, France, Japan, Italy, Austria, Canada and Australia.
Tragedy has attained a 5x platinum certification in Canada, and platinum certification in the US, UK and Hong Kong.
