I’ll Be There for You is a glam metal hard rock song by American rock band Bon Jovi, from their 1988 fourth studio album New Jersey.

Like Wanted Dead or Alive, it was written by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora; and produced by Bruce Fairbairn.

Mercury Records released the track as the third single from the album on April 4, 1989, and it ultimately reached Number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It also attained the Number 2 and 6 positions in Canada and Ireland respectively.

Tidbit: This song was the band’s fourth and final Number one single.
