Wanted Dead or Alive is a hard rock song recorded by American rock band Bon Jovi, from their 1986 third studio album Slippery When Wet. The song was written by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora.
Bruce Fairbairn produced the track and it was released as the album’s third single on March 3, 1987.
The song peaked at Number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100 –the third single from the album to do so, and at Number 13 on the UK Singles chart.
Consequently, Slippery When Wet became the first hard rock album to have three (3) top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
Considered to be one of the band’s signature songs, the song has been certified 4x platinum in the US and is popular among younger audiences as it is used as the theme song for Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch TV show.
