Enugu Rangers are favourites for Nigeria Professional Football League title, says Ezeaku

The Flying Antelopes manager insists that his charges are odds-on to emerge as Nigeria topflight kings after crushin Stanley Eguma's men on Sunday

Enugu Rangers' Amobi Ezeaku believes his side are favourites in the race for the Nigerian league title this season after defeating Rivers United in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League encounter.

Goals from Tope Olusesi, Godwin Aguda, Christian Madu and Obinna Nwobodo ensured victory against Stanley Eguma's men in a Week 34 encounter in Enugu.

"Well, it was a wonderful game. We thank our fans who came out to support Rangers," Ezeaku told media after the game.
"Rangers belong to the fans, as far as this victory is concerned, it goes to the fans becuase they are the pillars of Rangers.

"We also thank the governor [Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi] for his presence and support of his government.

"Well, 32, 25, 20 or 15 years we may not have won it, but this is 2015/2016 season and this is a new Rangers. Rangers have been earmarked for this trophy.

"We have worked so hard from December 2015 since we started our pre-season. And looking at where we are currently with the support of everyone - by God's grace, the trophy will to Rangers," he concluded.

The Enugu based side will hope to consolidate on their title ambitions when they confront Shooting Stars on Sunday in Ibadan.
