Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang is a G-funk gangsta rap hip hop duet by American rappers Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, from Dre’s 1992 debut solo album, The Chronic.

The song was produced by Dr. Dre and was released as the first single from the album on November 19, 1992.

Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang attained huge commercial success, reaching number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, behind Snow‘s hit song Informer.

The single also topped the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart and the Billboard Hot Rap Songs, and was a hit in the UK.

Furthermore, the song was selected by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the 500 songs that shaped rock and roll.

In 1999, the two rappers once again united for a sequel to the song as promised by Snoop Dogg at the end of the track, and that collaboration yielded the smash hit The Next Episode.
