Pjanic pleased with Juve intensity

The new signing made his first appearance for the Bianconeri in their win over the English side and believes the early signs are good, but feels they can improve

Miralem Pjanic was pleased with Juventus' improved intensity in their 2-1 win over Tottenham in the International Champions Cup on Tuesday.

Pjanic played just over an hour at the MCG, setting up Juve's second goal in his maiden appearance for the Serie A champions.

After a disappointing performance in their ICC opener against Melbourne Victory on Saturday, Juve looked much hungrier for the contest against Spurs, especially in the first half where Pjanic and Paulo Dybala pulled the strings.

"I think the intensity was good," Pjanic said after the win.

"Of course, we have some things to do better.
We lose a little bit too many balls during the game but it's normal, it's just the beginning.

"I think that the team played well and the intensity was good."

Juventus opened the scoring after just five minutes when Roberto Pereyra won possession in Tottenham's defensive half and teed up Dybala.

Just eight minutes later, it was 2-0 as Spurs failed to clear Dybala's corner and Pjanic pounced, chipping the ball to the back post for fellow debutant Medhi Benatia to head home.

With almost a month before the 2016-17 Serie A season begins, Pjanic appeared excited by what Massimiliano Allegri's squad can achieve in the upcoming campaign.

"I've been with the team just one month, so I'm [getting to know] everybody.
When we come back to Turin, the other players will come also," the midfielder said.

"So I think we have a good team and we'll do great things this year."
