Host Rwanda are placed in POT 1, which includes DR Congo, Tunisia and Zimbabwe.
Home based Eagles celebrate a goal during the 2014 edition in South Africa.
Morocco, Uganda, Cameroon and Niger occupy POT 3 and then Ethiopia are placed with Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia and Guinea in POT 4.
The draw for the finals will be held at the Serena Hotel in Kigali at 6:00pm local time.
Teams placed in Group A will play their preliminary matches at the Amahoro Stadium I Kigali, Group B in Bature while the Nyamirambo stadium will host teams in Group C. Countries in Group D will play at the Gisenyi Stadium also in Rwanda.
It would be recalled that Nigeria came third in the 2014 African Nations Championship in South Africa, after losing to Ghana 4-1 on penalties in the Semi-final before managing to defeat Zimbabwe 1 – 0 in the third place play-offs.
The 2006 edition will take place in Rwanda from January 16 and then climax on February 7.
