Amosun, labour leaders in closed-door meeting over strike threat

The Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun is holding a closed-door meeting with representatives of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Trade Union Congress, TUC, and the National Joint Negotiating Council, JNC, over the recent threat by the state’s workers to embark on strike.

The meeting is holding in the inner chamber of the Governor’s office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The meeting, which has in attendance, NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, TUC President, Boboi Kaigama and Kiri Shuaibu of JNC, may not be unconnected with the recent sack and suspension of labour leaders and teachers in the state

Recall that the state government on Monday sacked the State Chairman of NLC, Akeem Ambali, and the State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Dare Ilekoya eleven days after embarking on strike.
