Now You Can Cast Harry Potter Spells With Your Android Phone

If you’ve always been a fan of Harry Potter from the beginning, perhaps you’re going to appreciate this. Google now lets you cast Harry Potter spells with your Android phone. No, you’re not really going to kill your worst enemy by pointing your phone like a wand towards him and casting the deadly “Avada Kedavra” spell, these are rather some selected spells to perform certain functions on your phone.

To promote J. K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie, Warner Bros partnered with Google to let you cast a few spells through the default Android personal assistant.


Simply say “OK Google, Lumos” and your flashlight should turn on. To turn off the flashlight, cast another spell and say “OK Google, Nox!”

“Silencio” is another spell that puts your phone in silent mode.

At the moment, it’s unclear if more spells would be added to perform more functions. You can as well explore the world of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with Google Street View. You just have to visit New York as depicted by the movie in 1926.
