Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven

Stairway to Heaven is a progressive hard rock song recorded by English rock band Led Zeppelin, for their 1971 fourth studio album Led Zeppelin IV.

Jimmy Page, the band’s lead guitarist, produced the song and co-wrote it with Robert Plant.

After the song’s release on November 8, 1971, it became quite popular and went ahead to become one of the greatest rock songs of all time.

A factor that contributed to this would be the claims of back masking, as many pundits say the song contains hidden satanic messages which could be heard when played backwards.

Though there has not been conclusive evidence on this, the claims still remain somewhat strong over the years.

However, the song is currently placed at Number 31 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
