TC Terror wins third parasoccer tourney

TC Terror Parasoccer Club at the weekend emerged champion of the third Lagos Inter-Club Parasoccer Championship held at the Rowe Park Sports Complex, Yaba.

In the final match, the Theo Lawson’s side defeated New Africa Shrine (NAS) Warriors 3-1 to claim this year’s trophy.

The third place position was won by Premium Parasoccer Club, who beat Lead United 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 regulation time.


Speaking at the occasion, Special Adviser to the Lagos Governor on Sports, who is also Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr. Deji Tinubu, said the Parasoccer contest was one of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s policy trust in sports, giving people with disability a sense of belonging.
According to him, a Parasoccer league, which will start next year, would develop the game from the grassroots.

In his remarks, the Director General of the State’s Sports Council, Mr. Adewunmi Gbolahan Ogunsanya, reiterated Lagos’ support for the Parasoccer players, while assuring them of an all-inclusive programme that would take care of them and other abled athletes.

An elated Chairman of Lagos State Parasoccer Association, Nkechi Obi, expressed happiness over the success recorded at the championship, saying a lot of progress had been made at this year’s edition.
