De Gea agent confirms Man Utd contract talks
David de Gea's agent, Jorge Mendes, has confirmed that he is in talks with Manchester Unitedover a potential contract renewal for his client.
It had already been reported that United are ready to finally hammer out improved terms with the goalkeeper amid serious interest from Real Madrid, with his current deal set to expire in 2016.
Mendes has previously said that he expects De Gea to remain at Old Traffordand has now reiterated his belief that the 24-year-old will commit his future to the club, though he notes that nothing has been signed yet.
"It's not true that a deal has been done with Real Madrid," Mendes toldCadena Ser. "I'm negotiating his renewal at United. We've signed nothing.
"Players decide what they want. There are talks and it seems in principle that he wants to continue there but it's not signed yet."

De Gea has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this season, appearing in every league game to date, and United are aware that any new contract would likely have to include a buyout clause and a hefty wage hike.
