Plateau United ends FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s 10-match unbeaten run

Plateau United of Jos, on Saturday, defeated visiting FC Ifeanyi Ubah of Nnewi 2-0 to end their ten match unbeaten run.
The victory has now moved the Simon Lalong boys, as they are popularly called, to the 11th position on the log of Nigerian Professional Football League.

This is Plateau United’s second victory in a row after it defeated Mountain of Fire and Miracles FC 1-0 away in Lagos last week.


Kabiru Umar scored in the 15th minute to put Plateau United ahead.

The tin city boys consolidated their position when Benjamin Turba doubled the lead on the 40th minute of the encounter.

Speaking with newsmen after the match, Plateau United Head Coach, Audu Pele said that his team was picking form at the right time.

Pele said that his team which was flirting in the drop zone was back in the mid table and that he set fourth position as their target.


“We are playing well at the right time, and will not take any team for granted until we achieve our target”, he said.

He commended his boys for a good performance but added that they can do better.

Coach of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Rafeal Everton, praised his boys, saying that they were unlucky to return home with nothing.
