Cristiano Ronaldo's Mom Slams Dimitri Payet On Twitter For Tackle That Injured Him

Cristiano Ronaldo's mother took aim at Dimitri Payet after the Frenchman forced her son out of the European Championship final.

A hefty challenge from West Ham star Payet saw Ronaldo fall to the ground in agony after just eight minutes of Sunday night's match in Paris.

The 31-year-old attempted to play on with strapping on his left knee but a short time later he signalled to the bench that he would be unable to carry on and was replaced by Ricardo Quaresma.

Shortly after seeing her son stretchered off in tears, Dolores Aveiro took to Twitter to question the intention behind Payet's challenge.

"I cannot see my son in this way," she wrote alongside a picture of Ronaldo crying.

"The game is about kicking the ball, not hurting the opponent.
"My son left the field but our team can win. I trust that we will be able to lift the cup."
