Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi Wins Miss Universe 2019

Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi has been crowned Miss Universe 2019.

The South African beauty queen beat 90 other contestants in the 68th edition of the event held Sunday in Atlanta, US in a glitzy ceremony hosted by popular TV personality Steve Harvey.

The 26-year-old Zozibini Tunzi said she will use her crown to influence and make an impact by empowering young women and breaking colour stereotypes.

“I grew up in a world where women who look like me with my kind of skin or my kind of hair are not considered to be beautiful, I think that it is time that this stops today. I want children to look at me and see my face, then see their faces reflected in mine,” Zozibini Tunzi said on stage before she was crowned Miss Universe 2019.
