24-year-old man arrested over alleged threats to assassinate Trump, blow up US

A 24-year-old man, Zachary Benson, from Fairview Park in Cleveland, Ohio has been arrested after he posted on the social media that he would like to see United States, US President-elect, Donald Trump, dead.

He had also posted on Twitter that he would blow up the entire US.

Benson @ZeeAyeKeyKay on Twitter, posted at about 1 a.m. on November 9 – “I am watching the election results on television.


“Diplomacy. fu-Cking Fools. I hate you all. I want to bomb every one of your voting booths and your general areas.

“My life goal is to assassinate Trump. Don’t care if I serve infinite sentences. That man deserves to decease existing.”

Benson was arrested a few hours later and interviewed by the Secret Service. He was quoted to have told the Secret Service agent that he spent election night drinking and eating at a restaurant with his father and a friend.

He was consequently charged in a federal court following his tweets and made first appearance in court last week and he is to remain in custody, pending a bail hearing.


Benson, who is reportedly cooling off in police custody, claimed that he didn’t mean what he said, and that he was “very apologetic,” Daily Mail is reporting.

He insisted he never intended any harm to anyone and would not want anything to happen to Trump or the general public despite his threat about bombing ‘general areas.’
