An armed robber was beaten mercilessly by an angry mob after he was caught robbing with a toy gun in Edo State yesterday.

In a video clip gone viral on Youtude, the thief said he was from Osun state.

When asked what his name was he said, “Smallie” and also claimed to be a Christian.

He said he was born in “Osun state” where he also claimed to have come from.

He also said he only attempted to steal because he had not eaten for 3 days, but added, “I no thief.”

Asked what he was doing with a toy gun, he said, “I dey use am thief,” because “since 3 days, I never chop.”

The thief, who pleaded for mercy, was left with wounds everywhere including his mouth and eyes.
