Mr. Loverman is an R&B reggae fusion single and signature song of Jamaican dancehall artist Shabba Ranks, taken from his 1992 album Rough & Ready Vol. 1.
He wrote it with Hopeton Lindo and Mikey Bennett, who produced it with Clifton Dillon.
Epic Records released it as a single in 1992, reaching Number 2 on both the US Billboard Hot R&B Singles and Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales chart.
The song was featured in the soundtrack of the 1992 motion picture Deep Cover and was also popularly sang by English football club Birmingham City about their striker Peter Lovenkrands until his retirement in November 2014.
