The track was released on May 7, 2010 as the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, held in South Africa.
The single received generally favorable reviews from critics and peaked at number one on record charts of numerous countries including Belgium, Austria, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Switzerland.
In the United States, the song has been later certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling over one million units in the country.
