Ex-Barca/Man U Goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, Announces Retirement After Failing To Find A Club

Former Barcelona and Manchester United goalkeeper, Victor Valdes has announced his retirement from football after failing to find a club. He also deleted all of his social media accounts


The goal stopper who enjoyed a successful career with Barcelona and the Spanish national team has not been able to find a club since leaving Middlesbrough in May last year.


On Monday, the 35-year-old decided to hang up his gloves to focus on his family.


The Spanish keeper took to social media for the very last time to say 'thanks for everything' before deleting his Twitter and Instagram accounts.



Valdes who showed that he was a man of his words, revealed in 2015, that he would delete his social media accounts once his playing days came to an end to focus on his family.


He told RAC1: 'When the light goes out someday, then it will go out and I'll be with my children, teaching them about life. But I hope that when the light does go out, it will be hard to find me.'

Victor Valdes who made 515 appearances during his professional football career, played for Barcelona, where he won a lot of trophies. He also played Manchester United ,Standard Liège and Middlesbrough.
