Yannick Phillippe - Deep Like Ocean

In the Afro-hip hop underground scene, there is a new mover and shaker best known as Yannick Phillippe a Nigerian/French Rapper born in Ivry Sur Seine, France.


He fell in-love with Rap music at the age of 12 and started his music career in the early 2000 recording on a Virtual DJ in his house, then went on to hook up with a Talented producer called” Swaps On the Mix ” who mixed and mastered the hit single” Swag On Fire” in the year 2011.


Yannick Philippe desired to stand out from other independent upcoming artists and that’s when he began to write his own rap songs.


In his own words” I work hard, I grind, hustle,promote,and spend countless hours making sure that my music stands out form the rest. I write my lyrics, and invented my own style in the Afro -hip-hop culture”


He was influenced by legendary Jay-Z,Ludacris,Eminem,KRS-One, 2face, Modenine and Terry tha rapman.


He later crossed over to Lagos, Nigeria after finishing up a Diploma in Film-Making at Eicar international Film School , Paris, France.


He has been on stage with samklef and chuddy K, He also performed at White-sand centre,Lagos, Nigeria on 20 December,2000 and at Westfield in the Gambia,on 14 September,2005.

He just released two new singles called ” Deep like the Ocean ” and “69 missed calls ” ( Jah Bless Cover )
