APC is full of propaganda – Patience Jonathan

FIRST LADY Mrs Patience Jonathan, yesterday, lambasted the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying the party was only good in propaganda and urged Nigerians to come out massively to reject the opposition party in the forthcoming elections.

Speaking at a women sensitisation rally in Lagos, Mrs. Jonathan urged Lagosians to massively vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP at all levels saying they will live not to regret it. According to her, the PDP administration in Abuja has delivered on its promises and would do more if given the opportunity.

She, however, chided the opposition APC saying that the party has nothing to offer Nigerians. She said “we do what we promised because PDP is not a propaganda party. If you vote for PDP, you will never regret it. They are talking about corruption, are they not corrupt? For Nigerian women, your messiah has come and that is the PDP. The APC has nothing to offer, if they have anything to offer, then, let them come out and say it because seeing is believing.”

She said that the President has implemented the Beijing Conference recommendation of 35 per cent allocation of appointments to women with his generous appointment of female ministers in the federal cabinet. “Jonathan will give us more female ministers.”

Urging the electorate to vote for Agbaje during the April 11 governorship election, Mrs Jonathan said that the PDP governorship candidate would deliver on his campaign promises if voted into office. She said “We have given you a good material, Jimi is a credible candidate, Jimi will win and will not dupe you.”

In her remarks, the PDP National Woman Leader, Mrs Kema Chikwe said that Nigeria had a First Lady that was working hard to ensure that Nigerian women were properly taken care of. “We have a First Lady who is hardworking, going from state to state to ensure Nigerian women are taken care of. Patience Jonathan has written her name in the history of Nigeria as the best First Lady Nigeria ever had”, Chikwe said.

Calling on women to throw their weight behind President Jonathan in the March 28 poll, the woman leader said that the President had shown Nigerian women that they could stand to be counted.

She said “the President has given serious recognition to women. We have female ministers of Petroleum, Information and Finance and a Woman is the Chief Justice of the Federation. We (women) should always thank God for such a President. Do not be deceived by propaganda she urged”, she added.

Earlier the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Senator Musliu Obanikoro urged Nigerians to vote for Jonathan for continuity of his transformation agenda saying “we want change in Nigeria but a structural change.”

Notable persons present include, wife of the Cross River State governor, Mrs Obioma Imoke; Senator Florence Ita Giwa, Mrs Roli Bode George, Nollywood artistes including, Patience Ozokwor, Racheal Oniga and Toyin Aimaku, Paul Obazele, Onyeka Onwenu, Charles Anwurum, Abass Obesere, Olumide Bakare, Said Osupa, Alex Osifo, Rita Edochie and Emeka Enyiocha among others.
