Lionel Messi bagged his 25th LaLiga goal of the season as Barcelona saw off Getafe to close the gap on title rivals Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

The Argentine superstar opened the scoring after just eight minutes with an excellent finish having engineered space in Getafe's box to fire in the opener.

Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet and Getafe's Sofian Chakla each put the ball in their own nets before Messi bagged Barca's third to tuck away a rebound for an easy goal.

The visitors made Ronald Koeman's side work for the victory, though, with Enes Unal scoring a penalty with 20 minutes to go in a nervy end to the game at the Nou Camp. However, Ronald Araujo put the game beyond doubt as Barca moved to within four points of league leaders Atletico with a game in hand.
