When it comes to music, guess we can safely say that West and Southern Africa pretty much compete for top spot with Nigeria and South Africa leading the regions while east Africa despite their beloved Diamond taking so many statues at the Channel O Awards 2014, are not even in contention of that top spot. Their biggest export Sauti Sol, may be mentioned here and there in the media but they are also nowhere near Africa’s AList music royalty. No offense but you won’t be in traffic and suddenly find yourself mumbling the lyrics to their song when it plays on local South African radio for example.

But then you see the craziness that happened over the brand new video from one very hot mama, Yvonne Darq featuring the ever sexy Victoria Kimani who is also no stranger to the hate from her own people when it comes to her very sexy Kimani brand (just check the comments on her instagram), you wonder if this is one of the reasons they are lagging behind? I mean the African music industry is developing fast and artists need to be more aggressive and unafraid to take risks so all this hate over a sexy video seems pretty backward especially when the sexy level in male artists videos has been going up with no complaints from anyone! East Africa and Africans in general need to give the girls a break and let them do whatever the hell they want! Their dress, their choice and all that!
